Regional language variants and scripts

American English and British English are separate options. Other regional variants, such as Brazilian and European Portuguese or Canadian French, do not currently have separate entries in the language list. Review the wording for your intended audience when preparing translations.

The current Chinese option is Simplified Chinese. Traditional Chinese is not a separate option, including for the listed Hong Kong and Taiwan markets. If your study needs Traditional Chinese, another script, or a specific regional variant, talk to us before setting up fieldwork.

Setting up a multilingual or international study

  1. Choose the Survey language you will write the questionnaire in, then select your Markets and Supported Languages in survey settings. See Multilingual surveys.
  2. Configure respondent sources for the markets you want to reach. See Fielding surveys internationally.
  3. Review the translations and test every language and market before going live. See Testing and reviewing your survey.

Need another market or language?

We welcome requests for new markets, languages, and regional variants. If your requirements are not listed, get in touch with MX8 Labs so we can discuss feasibility, translation and review requirements, and what is needed to support your study.

Our respondent-source partners may offer additional markets and language combinations. PureSpectrum's published country and language list and Prodege's global coverage describe their networks. Contact us to confirm availability through the MX8 Labs Research Platform for your intended audience and language.

Tell us the countries or territories you want to reach, the languages and scripts you need, your target audience and sample size, and your intended fieldwork dates. Let us know whether you plan to use your own participants or need help sourcing respondents.
