Use account-level instructions to guide the AI when it generates reports for your account. For example, describe the comparisons your team usually needs or how you want reports organized. These instructions affect future report generation; existing reports keep their current configuration.
Set and save instructions
You need permission to edit the account. Open the account's Customizations tab and find Get Reports.

- Enter your requirements in Instructions.
- Turn on Enable Get Reports if you want the instructions to apply once validated.
- Select Save instructions.
- Check the status before generating reports that rely on the customization.
Saving starts validation. Saved instructions are active only when their status is Live and the switch is enabled.
Understand the status
| Status | What it means for new reports |
|---|---|
| Not configured | The standard report-generation instructions are used. |
| Pending | The saved instructions are awaiting validation. The standard instructions remain in use. |
| Live | Validation succeeded and the enabled instructions apply to future reports. |
| Live — disabled | Validation succeeded, but the customization is switched off. The standard instructions are used. |
| Failed | Validation failed and the customization has been disabled. Read the error, revise the instructions, and save again, or select Retry validation. |
| Unavailable | The current status could not be loaded. Select Retry to refresh it. |
After retrying failed validation, check the enabled switch before using the customization. A successful validation does not by itself undo a disabled setting.
Disable or reset
To stop using the customization while retaining it, switch off Enable Get Reports and select Save instructions. The saved instructions and their successful validation remain available to enable later.
To remove it, select Reset to baseline and confirm. This removes the saved instructions and any draft edits; future reports use the standard instructions.
For survey-specific comparisons, use the Breakout switches in the Questions tab. For individual report settings, see Reporting with MX8 Labs.
