Account plans and usage

Open your account to review research activity, available funding, and the terms that apply across its projects. Platform usage and respondent costs are separate: time in one balance cannot be used as money in the other.

Find the account information you need

TabWhat to use it for
ActivityLast-30-days usage, current funding capacity, monthly history, and survey-level usage.
ProjectsProject navigation, survey counts, response progress, and lifetime platform usage and respondent costs.

The tabs and actions you can use depend on your account permissions. Usage rows and totals respect access to their projects and surveys. Contact your account administrator if expected research is missing.

Read the two funding balances

  • Platform usage measures research-platform time. The account screens display it in minutes.
  • Respondent costs are money in the account's stated currency. They include the customer cost of sample, including any applicable markup.

For each balance, check the current Balance, permitted Credit, and Remaining capacity. Remaining capacity combines the balance and permitted credit. A zero credit limit allows no borrowing; Unlimited indicates no configured credit cap. A negative balance carries forward rather than disappearing at renewal.

A new account can have zero funding and zero credit. Paid launches require adequate respondent-cost funding or an approved credit limit. Contact your MX8 Labs account team when funding or commercial terms need to change.

Understand Activity totals

Activity starts with the last 30 days. Use History to compare 3, 6, 12, or 24 months, then search the survey table for the study you need. Open a survey row to investigate its research activity. Table totals cover the matching results you are authorized to view, including results beyond the current page.

Period usage totals are estimates allocated from each source's recorded usage and response period. Read them as estimated use within the selected window. Funding, allowances, and balance corrections affect available capacity separately; use transaction history when reviewing those changes. Lifetime project totals and a selected period can therefore answer different questions.

Check the rate card

Rate card shows the account's current commercial terms. Platform time and respondent costs can have different allowances, credit limits, and renewal schedules. One-off and credit-only funding have no automatic renewal; monthly and annual terms show the applicable renewal date.

Read the rollover term for each balance: positive balances may roll over or reset according to the card, while negative balances carry forward. Changing terms retains existing balances and applies the new card's allowances. Where scheduled terms are shown, check their effective date before planning future fieldwork.

Commercial terms and account currency are managed by MX8 Labs. Customer account details do not provide a way to change those terms. Ask your MX8 Labs account team to arrange a funding adjustment or effective-dated replacement card.

Before launching paid fieldwork

  1. Check the correct account and currency.
  2. Review remaining capacity in both balances and the source's quoted respondent cost.
  3. Check renewal dates and any scheduled terms that affect the fieldwork period.
  4. Resolve missing funding or permissions before launching.
