Check survey formatting before fielding

Use this tool for question text, answer options, respondent instructions and stimulus descriptions in the MX8 Labs Research Platform. Compare how the same copy appears in a chat survey and a traditional survey before adding it to your study.

How to use the previewer

1. Paste the contents of your Python string into the editor, leaving out the surrounding quotes and survey-code function call.
2. Edit the text and compare both previews. Check headings, emphasis, lists, tables, links and images.
3. Copy the edited text into your survey code, then test the survey to check its full respondent flow.

Check line breaks in both views

A single newline can look different in chat and traditional layouts. Use a blank line to separate paragraphs. The editor also interprets Python string escapes such as \n and \n\n. For examples of consistent line breaks, links and image URLs, see the survey Markdown formatting reference.
